“M.anifest” born as Kwame Ametepee Tsikata is a multi-award winning Ghanaian rapper, singer songwriter. He started writing and making beats at a young age. M. anifest debuted his first album, “Manifestations,” in 2007. He released another single “Someway bi” in 2015 which placed him third in the International Songwriters Competition, bringing him further recognition.

M.anifest dropped his song “We no dey hear” featuring Kelvyn Boy and Kel-P. The song starts off with the lyrics, “If I say I no dey hear,All my guys no dey hear, M.anifesto no dey hear oh, and All my people no dey hear” representing that the public isn’t going to hear what the government of Ghana might have for them. In verse 2 of the song, M.anifest raps, “No be sey we no dey respect, we no dey hear, Can’t share our smiles if you no dey share our tears, Tell a low-life that we on the upper tiers” The line we can share our smiles if you no dey share our tears” is revealing that the government of Ghana continues to oppress the citizens of and if they can’t solve the injustice that is going on they can’t smile and show their happiness in their own country. Not only is this song catchy and you can dance to it as well, it has an addition of afrobeat and hip hop mixed well. There is an underlying message in these lyrics and for M.anifest to combine it together highlights what an artist he is.

M.anifest calling out the injustice issues in his music is a good thing for Ghanaians because it represents that they are not by themselves in this issue. The song and the music can not only influence Ghanaians but can also influence people internally as well. I hope M.anifest continues to influence society with socially conscious lyrics and his enthusiastic performance.
