For this post I decided to revisit Lioness’ body of work, like with “Linyenga”, Lioness uses a very distinct and unique beat. The song is a fusion of a more traditional hip-hop beat and R&B. Both the track and the music video follow many of the conventions of American hip-hop.  The production is also on par with, and in some cases superior to many more famous western artists. 

Through the lyrics, Lioness delivers a message of self-assurance and determination, celebrating the resilience and strength of a modern-day superstar. Through both the lyrics and video we see exactly how far Lioness’ plans to go in her career, and based on the quality of her work, these goals seem very much within her reach.

Another very strong aspect of “Superstar” is Lioness’s impeccable flow and delivery. Her smooth vocals showcase her strong vocal range.
