Marwan Moussa was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1995, and he is a rapper and producer. He studied sound engineering in Los Angeles in 2016. This helped him grow his creative experience and skills.

matrosh - Marwan Moussa: Song Lyrics, Music Videos & Concerts

Marwan joined the music scene in 2016, combining Egyptian culture, such as the local electronic folk genre, with hip-hop and trap. He became known as a rapper in 2019 through his album Propaganda.

In his 2025 Matrosh, which translates to “unstoppable,” he openly brags about his skills song. He opens up, flexing about living in Egypt and being a king in the area. He also compares himself to Omar Marmoush a Egyptian football player who is known for being fast.

He then touches on love culture within Gen-Z, stating, “You overthink/ And you unsend,” describing Gen-Z relationships. The internet culture where, instead of communicating, messages get deleted and are done via technology.

He continues the flexing by stating, “Walking with an ID in my pocket, I enter any known place, I’m the connection,” showing how influential he is in the industry. This is a popular theme in Egyptian rap, with Egyptian society being heavily based on who you know. He ends with “The round with me ends in retirement,” showing that if you battle with him, your career will be over. However, he is deliberate in showing his dominance through his writing skills, stating, “I’m going down on the guys with pens.”

Matrosh also calls out others, “Half of these people are zeros, they’re entering with the shortage in a tender.  The beat is nice and is something to bob to on a car ride. The artist reminds me of an Egyptian version of the artist Future. The braging and switching between slow and faster rapping.

I would give this song a 6/10 for the fun beat, some clever lines, and the references to Egyptian society. The themes of weed and extreme money, mentioned a few times, seem disingenuous and a copy of American Style Rap. I would encourage Moussa to keep the Egyptian culture and minimize trying to fit into an industry box.
