Since the early days of her modeling career, Lola Monroe had always known she wanted to pursue a career as a Hip hop female emcee eventually. So in 2007 she was still a music video model but in the ears to come, she would be best known for her singles “Don’t Wake Me” and “Overtime.” In 2009 she released her first mix tape called Boss Bitch’s World, The Lola Monroe Chronicles: the Art of Motivation, and her collaborative mix tape called Untouchables all in one year! In 2010, she released her fourth mix tape called Batteries Not Included.
In 2013, she was nominated for Best Female Hip hop Artist on the BET Awards. She featured Kid Ink in a song called “Lick It (U Nasty)” and associated with Whiz Khalifa in her 2012 single called “Darling.” Lola became a part of Whiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang movement as the first lady. She was there along with other important artists such as Juicy J, Chevy Woods and many more. Her first album release now as a part of this label was 2013’s Lipstick & Pistols.
That same year she released another album called Boss Bitch’s World II along with Juicy J and Chevy woods. Ten days after her album release along with her producer Cardo she left Taylor Gang. It was rumored that they had kicked her out but she said she had never actually signed to the label. Her musical influences have been Jay-Z, Tupac Shakur, MC Lyte, etc. Lola has an amazing future if she continues with all these successes.
