“Hard work is what I eat the fruit of trusting the process, They know I’m winning it, I’ve come from the ground and I’m carrying the handle.”
– Femi One
Femi One is a fiery Kenyan artist whose confidence and strength are showcased throughout her tracks. Time and time again she showcases why women in rap are a powerhouse to not be messed with and to be revered. She dropped her album Dem Kutoka Mwiki which featured the track “Suspect”. In it, she ranges from speaking about her ambition, confidence, and come-up. She tells her story through creative bars that speak to her upbringing in the game. “Hard work is what I eat the fruit of trusting the process, They know I’m winning it, I’ve come from the ground and I’m carrying the handle.” Her ambition and drive are what have led her to her widespread success. On this track, she speaks on it in a very powerful fashion. Her delivery is fiery and hot, but it’s laced with directness and truth.
Femi includes a lot of play on words and even references a great soccer player – Mbappe, on the track. “I have a lot of saliva when I spit it happens, Score a hat-trick in the final like Kylian Mbappe.”

The rap game is a race, and her drive is what keeps her in the lead. Her dynamic flow and inspiring confidence oozes throughout this track and her album. “It’s a marathon and you’re competing to see who is the fastest, The madness! And after seven months we is past tense.” I think her abilities are an inspiration to women as to what is possible to be achieved in the rap game when you push yourself to the limit. As well as the life that is a by-product of reaching for that success. The track “Suspect”, as well as the others featured on her album are all ones that ALL should be checked out!
