French Montana’s Music is usually a hit or miss; either he drops something with great energy, perfect in lyrics, beat, and videography, or it sounds like a 13 yr kid’s Soundcloud rap. unfortunately in “Big Bag” released on July 25, 2025, it’s closer to the second case.
The chorus is basically the whole point, big bag = big money, which sends the message that it’s an ultimate achievement. The song is simple, it repeats a lot of the lyrics, and it sticks, not because it’s deep but because it’s a never-ending loop. The beat stays minimal throughout the song, and once you listen to it a couple of times, you realize the track isn’t truly building to anything, it’s just straight up flexing.
The video clip works well with the lyrics. Burning bags in a pile is a loud way of showing they’ve got money, so much that they don’t even care about wasting it, and that “we don’t care” attitude is clearly meant to make people mad. The cash, luxury cars, and even the crocodile add to that message too, everything feels expensive, flashy, and intentionally over the top to show how rich and exotic their lifestyle is.

What’s interesting, though, is how ironic the setting feels. Parts of the video look like they were filmed in the backrooms of an abandoned place, which is the opposite of the rich boy aesthetic they’re trying to give. But I can also see how that contrast might represent them finally making it from nothing, flexing in a gritty space to show where they came from. Either way, the video quality is very goo,d and the edits are also very well made.
Lil Durk brings actual intensity; he sounds like he’s lived what he’s talking about. But the song doesn’t let that matter, because it keeps snapping back to the same loop, money, money, money. At that point, it’s not storytelling, it’s just bragging on repeat, which makes it lack authenticity.
Overall, it’s a nice song, but it’s missing that real layer. Like, okay, the vibe is there, but where’s the part that makes me feel anything or actually relate?
