This is a blog dedicated to the “African Hip Hop Project”. The project includes information and resources on hip hop artists and culture in Africa. Content for the site is mostly written by students in the Hip Hop in Africa course at Howard University and George Washington University. The site was created by faculty and students in the Department of African Studies at Howard University in Washington, DC.

We also host a monthly podcast on social issues and hip hop. That podcast features interviews and music from around Africa.

We are a “nonprofit” blog & podcast. We do not accept money for ad space or posts. We cannot pay for material.

  9. Hey there hope all is well.
    I’m a hip hop artist based out of Kingston On Canada. I just released a new project (link below) titled “Lost File($)” and thought I would share my vision and sound. I have been recording for a number of years now and feel like I’m starting to find my stride. I’m sending this message today with the intentions of getting my sound out to some credited and respected ears. Studio time accompanied by numerous open mics in the Toronto area is where I feel I built my product.
