30 days of Tanzanian hip hop: Day 18 – Coin Moko of Viraka and Ehks B of Rebels Sonz. In 2009. In an interview with these underground emcees, they identified as being hip hop emcees. Both said Bongo Flava has led to the destruction of hip hop. Coin later participated in the Antivirus Mixtape, which included several emcees that criticized the corruption in the music industry in Tanzania. It was an important mixtape, and even though nothing has changed, it did allow artists in Tanzania to speak out against what they saw as a threat to hip hop culture in Tanzania.
