Hanna is a young up and coming artist planting her seed in the South African rap scene. While she was born and raised in Zimbabwe Hanna moved to South Africa to pursue a degree in electrical and mechanical engineering at the University of Cape Town. Making her not only a phenomenal artist but a dedicated student as well, a Jack of all trades if you will. Her song “Never Doubt” is showcased on her debut mixtape “The Girl in The Durag”. The mixtape paved the way for her in the industry, and because of it, she was nominated for Best Female at the South African Hip-Hop Awards in 2021.
The Artist has a smooth flow that encourages listeners to just want to sit back and nod their heads. “Never Doubt” is the first song on her debut album and is a testament to her greatness and capability to thrive in the industry. The song is light and uplifting, while simultaneously being lyrically engaging. “I can make a way, Imma be the greatest” Hanna reiterates throughout the song making her drive and passion for music more than evident. She tells listeners to “Never doubt the flow” insinuating that her music is always going to come with the heat, and based on “That Girl In The Durag” she is correct. Contrary to many other rappers Hanna does not come off as cocky but instead presents herself to be a confident young artist proud of her abilities. She does not embody the marketable “gangster” persona that many hip-hop artists of today use to leverage their careers. She speaks on real and current topics, a characteristic that makes her different from her peers.
