Zola:music review

Zola became well known for his acting skills before music although his contributions to the movie sountrack which increased the popularity of his role. He also played a role in the Academy Award winning film Tsotsi and the movie Drum as well as a few other documentaries. Mnay would consider Zola to be the second biggest brand in South Africa other than Nelson Mandela. Also a poet and platinum-selling kwaito performer, Zola’s first album, “Umdlwembe”, was released by Ghetto Ruff in 2000, combining styles like hip hop, gospel as well as traditional Zulu and Sotho music. Zola preforms as well as writes and produces his own music. In his music he speaks about  his feelings about the quality of the neighborhood he grew up in regarding the crime and violence.
